About the Vision

_________________

Our vision is a world in which businesses are owned and controlled not by external investors, but by the people who actively participate in them and create their value — workers, farmers, customers and communities.

Over the past 50 years, passive, institutional investors have come to disproportionately own and control enterprises across the economy. This has substantially increased the pressure for businesses to maximize returns, which often comes at the cost of other stakeholders in the form of lower wages, higher prices, higher rates of addiction and environmental devastation. The looming losses from AI and automation only raise the stakes.

People’s Capitalism directs value to the people who actually make businesses work, creating livelihoods with meaning and offering its participants freedom, agency and dignity.

Watch Hans and Bruce take a deeper dive into the ideas behind People’s Capitalism.
